To give you ladies a little background of skin icing it started in Korea before the split. Women in Korea are known for their skin therapy procedure with skin icing, it’s considered a regular routine in their skin care treatments. There are so many spas that implement skin icing in their everyday skin care treatments for clientele. I was one of the women that have experienced skin icing at the spa, I can tell you I wasn’t expecting ice on my face at all lol. As my face is beginning to feel cold, the esthetician told me the benefits of skin icing. She told me to implement skin icing like I how implement my face masks in my weekly routine.
Esthetician benefits told me:
- Refreshes your face.
- Prevents wrinkles.
- Beats acne and blemishes.
- Progresses blood circulation throughout face and gives an even skin tone complexion.
Benefits I saw when I performed skin icing:
- It brought me smoother skin, felt like the skin icing was tightening my skin and shrunk my pores which is every girls dream.
- ATTENTION: lol I tried skin icing before putting on my makeup a couple times, I wanted my makeup to look flawless but the cheap way. Also I wanted to try this because I felt like sometimes my moisturizers being applied before my primer was clogging my pores so I tried icing to minimize that and I saw a difference…not lying.
- Skin icing helps with puffy eyes, my mom taught me that one.
Steps for skin icing:
- First clean your face with water.
- Wrap 1 or 2 ice cubes (I typically use 1) and wrap around in a soft cloth.
- When the ice starts to melt make sure the cloth is damped and wet, then start applying it to your face.
- Hold the cloth and ice on different areas for about a min.
- Move the ice and cloth slowly and smoothly in circular round motions. Go down to the chin and jaw line, all the way up to the cheeks, and on the forehead and nose.
- Once you completed that then you can finish off with your face cleanser, toner then your moisturizer.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Please wear gloves or any protectant for your hands and fingers remember its ice lol so it’s cold.
- Ladies please do not take the ice straight out the freezer and apply it on your skin. It can ruin your blood vessels under the skin and that’s a NONO.
- Try to do the skin icing between 5-7 mins.

I never tried skin icing but every time after washing my face, i finish off by rinsing with cold water. I'm gonna have to try this skin icing (the at home version first lol). So its something to do daily or like once a week? But I be having random ppl come up to me complimenting me on my skin, asking about my skincare routine lol I legit wanna tell them that its just these West-African genes
